I created this piece in 8th grade using only metal wire and plaster. At the time, I was interested in unique architectural structures and how different components could be brought together to form something larger. Personification along with gymnastics and choreography fascinated me, as well. I wanted to construct a sculpture that questioned the laws of physics through an unimaginable configuration of people that would all together symbolically represent strength and infrastructure, as every component or person would be dependent upon the other. I started with making the bottom three people, the foundation of the structure, and built my way to the top. I tried to use one long strand of wire for each person so that they would be held together better. I initially made a ball for their head then worked my way down the back to the legs then back up again to the arms. I used this strategy to fabricate all of the other people and connected each of them through wrapping wire around each vertex of limbs. Lastly, I thinly cut sheets of plaster to cover every part of the sculpture.
