Benjamin (Ben) Knepper was born and raised in Los Angeles, California with strong passions in both STEM fields and in the Humanities. He attended Windward School (CA), where he served as a Prefect, STEAM Scholar, Peer Counselor. He will be attending Cornell University in the class of 2024, where he plans to double major in Mathematics and Physics and minor in Philosophy. Knepper was also the captain of his varsity ice hockey team, the El Segundo Strikers, and now works as a coach at the Toyota Sports Performance Center. He has particular interests in interdisciplinary philosophy and science, environmental engineering, mathematical analysis, and astrophysics. Most recently, Knepper has been the lead of a club he created called the "SophoScientia Club," in which 7-12 graders discuss vexing, abstract questions using both scientific and philosophical analysis. He is skilled in leadership, collaboration (with adults and children), analysis, research, public speaking, lab work, customer service, Microsoft office and G Suite, and Spanish.
