This is a logo that I created through an application called "Procreate." My initial inspiration for this piece came from wanting to combine my familiar skill of drawing hands with a new and more complex idea. This idea was related to the misuse of resources in the world, specifically water, and their inequality between first-world and developing countries, yet this concept changed as my piece progressed. I had created a type of stream flowing into decrepit cupped hands with a hole in the middle, causing the stream to escape their grasp. I was trying to illustrate that resources like water easily avoid the hands of people from developing countries but as I drew, I realized that the message I was originally trying to get across was too complicated for a simple logo. From what I had produced thus far, the concept and meaning of the piece became more about a transformation that happens when the stream passes through the hands. From then on, the main focus of my drawing was a strong and bold transformation that could be interpreted in many ways; the audience would determine the message, not me. Through this design process, I learned how to adapt in the moment and expand on what I had previously created instead of restarting.
